Internship Spotlight

This summer, Jasmin McInerney is busy doing field work. For the past month, Jasmin has worked towards being a pilot for UC Davis’s new Slocum G2 Glider. Jasmin is part of a team doing work to monitor water quality and circulation in Lake Tahoe in conjunction with the Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC). As part of this work, they are collecting data from the glider. Along with vehicle preparation and deployment, Jasmin planned the missions to collect the data and monitored the vehicle’s progress during the mission. Jasmin completed her first mission in Lake Tahoe with the help of the Boyd Tahoe Scholarship.
Laila Hassen has been interning at a Fortune 500 company based out of SF, working in managing department and project performance for PG&E’s Gas Operations. This summer’s tune focuses on human engineering: how to breakdown silos between teams, standardize workflows, lean out processes, and map out processes for LiDAR technologies for aerial patrol.
